An A Record in DNS maps a domain name to its corresponding IPv4 address. Essentially, it tells your computer where to find the server hosting the website you're looking for.

CNAME Records in DNS are like forwarding addresses. They tell the DNS system that one domain name is an alias for another domain name. If you type in the alias, you'll be directed to the main domain.

LEGACY DOMAIN

It's the client's original domain, used in his previous website.

Clients will prefer to keep their domains the same since this is what's printed on their merchandise, calling cards, etc.

PMs must offer to set our  newly launched websites to their  Legacy Domains.

TEMPORARY / COURTESY / BURNER DOMAINS

These are the same things with different terms. It's the temporary domain that we set all newly built websites on to go live. These domains are in our Dynadot Account. Most clients usually prefer to replace the Temporary Domain with their Legacy Domains on their new websites once they are ready.

PRIMARY DOMAIN

This is the current main Domain set on a website.

ALTERNATE DOMAIN

These are secondary domains that is set to auto forward traffic to the Primary Domain on the site.

Alternate Domains that the client wishes to be kept must be entered in the Bitrix Profile Field "Alternate Domains to Keep"

The process of getting a web address lead to another website.

An embed code allows you to integrate external content into your website. 

For instance, if you want to display a YouTube video on your site, you'd use an embed code provided by YouTube to have that window in your web page.

EPP is generated within a Registrar when you initiate a transfer of a domain. It's is another term for Transfer Code & Auth Code.

GoDaddy is a Domain Registrar with a Web Builder of its own. It have the most advanced & responsive DNS setting allowing for immediate server changes.

HTML Code is adding an external feature from another source using code.

Adding a feature using an HTML code to the body of a webpage can be done using the HTML widget.

Adding Google Analytics or other Traffic Monitoring programs can be done via a page's Header HTML, or Body HTML.

An MX Record (Mail Exchange Record) in DNS specifies the mail servers responsible for receiving email on behalf of a domain. It is also the chosen Registrar for all of Google's Domains.

To get into the DNS settings of a Domain registered with Tucows, you will need to find the server provider and use the server name when asking the login from the client.
