Geo Targeting

As part of our SEO work to get our websites visible in the search engines, we can target specific locations that your client serves. We will be adding these locations in the following parts of our Collections for Search Engines to Index & appear in search results.

  • Meta Title
  • H1
  • Outlinks

There are two ways for us to Geo Target depending on your client's business type.

Service Businesses

Service providers that travel to their customer's location.

  • Plumbing Services
  • Roofing
  • Home Contractors
  • Electricians
  • HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning)
  • Pest Control
  • Auto Detailing
  • Window Tints

You can ask the client on geo-targeting in different ways

  • What cities to you service?
  • How far do you service from (business home location)?

Services Businesses will have different styles of geo-targeting:

  • Circle Mile Radius from their location. Example: 80 miles from Denver, Colordo.
  • List of Cities
  • Within the State
  • US Mainland: Targeting US States (except Alaska & Hawaii) & the cities within 200 miles from the business's location as well.
  • All of USA: Targeting all 50 US States & the cities within 200 miles from the business's location as well.

Businesses with a Physical Venue

Operates in an Office, Shop, or Commercial Space.

  • Gyms
  • Dental Clinics
  • Beauty Spas
  • Salons / Barber Shops
  • Therapists / Counseling Services
  • Event Venues

Geo Targeting for Businesses that provides their services in a physical location, must be decided by the PM themselves.

Asking the client which locations they service will not make sense as they do not understand the purpose of it. To get to appear in searches for their services in the locations near them.

For example, your client's business is a Medical Spa is located in Nashville, TN. Targeting Clarksville, TN, which is 48 miles away, would make sense since this is a city with a big population. Searches for their services such as "IV Drip in Clarksville, TN" could potentially bring our clients website in the search result. Bringing our client's business more visibility to their potential customer. Of course, this still a 48 mile distance, but that would be a distance the customer may want to consider if they are impressed with the website & want the service enough. Clients will often make the travel for high quality professional facility & services.

By default, we can target 60 miles from their business's home location. Though you still must use your own judgement if 60 miles makes sense for your client's particular business.

Here are some examples of businesses were 60 miles is too far to make sense.

DayCare

Customers looking for Daycares will not travel 60 miles to drop their kids before they go to work.

Thus, we can geo-target 30 miles, from the business's location.

FoodTruck

Customers will not really travel much at all when looking for a nearby place to eat, or order food from.

Thus, targeting 15 miles would make better sense. Though 15 miles is usually the smallest radius we can target otherwise we might just end up with a very few number of cities to target.
