• Business Closure

Ask they plan to sell the business. If so, maybe the new owner would like to keep the site?

If no: Wish them well and and thank them for being one of our valued clients.

"I'm sorry to hear about your business. Hopefully, things change & you'd be able to bounce back again. Thank you for choosing Simple for your website"

If yes: Contact the new owner & ask. We can highlight the following benefits in having a site:

    - SEO & search engine visibility. For their customers to find them on specific word searchez.

    - Business legitimacy. Having a website increases a customers trust that the business is indeed legitimate.

"Having a website improves your business's online presence, helping customers find your business through relevant searches. In this age, people tend to rely more on online sources.

Having a website also establishes trust, making your business appear more legitimate and professional to potential customers."

  • Change of Management

We can ask the the new owner if they might be interested in keeping the site.

  • Cost / Too Expensive

We can evaluate if there any way we can reduce the cost of a site.

    Paid Features we can remove

Example: Remove Ecomm Store & Turn it into a Catalog Page of Products instead.

"Since having the store functionality adds to your cost, we can remove that and create a Catalog Page with all your products. Any interested customer can then send you a message instead. Removing the Store would just remove direct purchases & payments online."

If you found something you can remove, propose that & discuss the consequence of it's removal, then inform accounting.

    Church or Non Profit

We can ask Accounting for a discount, even if our request is below our cheapest rate.

"Let me check with our Accounting Department if I can negotiate a discount for you. Being a Church / Non-Profit in all. I will let you know the moment I get a response from them."

    Note:

Always check if we can reasonably ask Accounting for further discounts. If the site is already on / below our cheapest fee, best we explain to the client ther are already on the best possible rate.

  • Rate Increase

We can negotiate as per guide at simple-resources.com/rate-increase

  • Content / Edit / Design

We can always personalize their website as they see fit.

"I'd be glad to work on the edits you need for your website. What exactly do you need so I can get that started for you?"

If the client pushed on cancelling, you can tell the client that since they've still got time until their current month's subscription expires (you'll need to check the billing date to know this), we can try to modify the site and they can decide then whether they wish to proceed or not.

"I can see you still have 2 weeks until your monthly hosting is up, why don't we use that time to sort your website and you can decide by then if you still wish to cancel or not?"

    Redesign

We'll need specifics to ensure the output is correct.

    1. Ask the client for a reference site.

    2. Or we send them several of our own websites that's in the same line of business as a design reference & choose the ones that appeal to them.

Be as specific as you can on the ticket instructions and leave nothing for intepretation. Example, our "moden look" will diifer from what someone else's "moden look".

  • SEO / Low Traffic / Ranking

We can explore the following to attempt to boost traffic to the site.

"Let me check on this and what I can to maximize this for you. I'll get back to you with a report on your site's SEO performance and see what other things we can do to improve it further then."

If client pushes to cancel, you can tell the client that since they've still got time until their current month's subscription expires (you'll need to check the billing date to know this), we can try to boost the site and they can decide then whether they wish to proceed or not.

"I can see you still have 2 weeks until your monthly hosting is up, why don't we use that time to sort your website and you can decide by then if you still wish to cancel or not?"

    Post Call

    1. If no collection, build one. Discuss the keyword & target location for the client.

    2. Enhance the Collection by Keywords & Locations.

    3. Have Miguel do his custom SEO work on the website.

    4. Once the SEO work is done, we can create a Ranking Report just to show to the client the proof that their website is ranking well.

  • High Traffic but no Leads

This is more of a concern on converting visitors to customers.

    Recommend the "Typeform"

It's the auto-popup contact form on the homepage that Sterling & his Team, builds. This auto popup will engage the clients to providing their contact information & details on what service or product they're looking for exactly. Turning the visitor into a Lead for our client to contact. Though you will need the client's approval, since some finds the auto popups to be annoying.

"I can see that your website is gathering a decent amount of traffic. Our particular challenge is converting your visitors to interested customers.

If you want, we can implement an auto popup on the homepage to grab your visitor's attention & encourage them to provide their details & what it is they're looking for. These information is then sent to you as a potential lead so you can contact the client and discuss what they need."

  • IDX / MLS Integration (Real Estate)

This requires a $100+ subscription from IDX. We currently don't have a work around for this.

We can suggest to the client that we can manually add the properties to the website. They just need inform us whenever they have a new property for sale.

"IDX / MLS integration with your website is possible, through an embed code from IDX. Though from what I remember, IDX requires a subscription for this code. Would you like to check with them on this?"

  • Doesn't want to pay the Hosting Fees

"The hosting fee covers a package of services.

From graphic design & video work, domain & email hosting, unlimited site personalization, but mainly the site security certificate and Search Engine Optimization, to ensure your website's SEO is optimized and always remains visible & ranking high on the search engines."

If they find it too expensive, we have an entry above about "Cost / Too Expensive'

  • Unhappy with Services from Previous PM

"My apologies for what happened with your last project manager. Rest assured now that I'm your designated contact for your site, I'll prioritize and do what I can to bring your site upto date with all the changes that you need. Shall I ...."( initiate and push for the 1st set of edits if you've already identified them, otherwise....ask)

If the client pushes on cancelling, you can tell the client that since they've still got time until their current month's subscription expires (you'll need to check the billing date to know this), we can try to modify the site and they can decide then whether they wish to proceed or not.

"I can see you still have 2 weeks until your monthly hosting is up, why don't we use that time to sort your website and you can decide by then if you still wish to cancel or not?"

  • No time for Edits

Insist "I can jumpstart all the edits you need right now if you like. Where do you want me to start?"

If the client pushes to cancel, offer the SmartStaff package in case they'd want to hire extra manpower.

"If you'd like, you can sign up for a Virtual Assistant that could help you with remote tasks."

Otherwise we cannot do anything if they don't have time to work with our PMs to address the edits.

  • Prefers to work with a local Dev.

Highlight how our remote setup benefits them.

"Working remotely is one way for us offer better rates you see. This allows us to handle more number of clients efficiently.

Meeting up with clients will take considerable time & cost which will cause the price of our services to go up."

If already Hired a Local Dev

Wish them well, thank them for giving us a try. No save required.

  • Want someone they can meet with in person

"Unfortunately, working remotely is one way for us offer better rates. This allows us to handle more number of clients efficiently.

Meeting up with clients will take considerable time & cost which will cause the price of our services to go up you see."

  • Business Owner Died

No save required. Offer condolences and thank them for being one of our valued clients.

"I'm so sorry to hear that. My condolences sir/ma'am. No worries, I'll have your account with us cancelled shortly. Thank you for choosing Simple for your website"

  • Doesn't want it live/pay monthly support fee until some edits are done.

We can unpublish the site & consider making edits even if they are behind payments by 2 months. Just to ease & get things moving before we tell them that they need to pay.

"I'll bring the website offline for you. What edits shall we start with?"

We technically cannot place the hosting fee on hold. But we'll avoid speaking about that for now. We can rush these few major edits, then put an official stop at some point and break it to the client that Accounting is following up on the hosting fees. We cannot continue to do edits if the client doesn't wish to  pay.

"So far we've made good progress on the changes for your site, I'd be glad to do more for you of course. However Accounting has placed a hold on further edits until the Hosting Fee is paid you see."

You can send the simple.biz/pay link if the client needs to provide a new credit card details for the payment.

Our ultimate objective is to compromize a bit to get the client to pay up & bring the website online a.s.a.p. You will need to keep following up with the client to ensure this keeps moving.

Keeping a website offline can result to the client disputing the hosting fee coz the site is offline.

  • Doesn't want AI involved in the creation of his website.

"While we use AI for a portion of our processes, most of the work on the website are custom work done by us to ensure the website is optimized to target the right audience, performance and search engine visibility. Ai hasn't really reached the point of being able to build full websites on its own yet."

  • Website would stay active even if they stopped paying hosting

"I'm not sure what was promised to you, but keeping a website online will incur maintenance charges, from web hosting, security certificate, licenses etc.

When you cancel out, the website will need to be transferred from our hosting to yours or to your new web person. We will provide the website's asstest so you can bring it back online on your own hosting.

What made you decide to host it on your own? Are there anything in particular that you're unhappy with us?"

  • I have other websites / Legacy Site

Highlight the upsides of our websites that's not in the legacy site.

Better SEO (only IF our site is indeed ranking better)

"I can see that the newer site ranks better online. You can expect these rankings to consitently improve as we continue to tweak and maintain the site. I can send you a detailed report on your site's current SEO's performance if you'd like."

Consistent support & unlimited edits (if they got noone helping them with their legacy site)

"Even if your website still needs a bit of work now, you can expect consistent support and unlimited edits to continuously update & improve your site to whatever you need it to be."
